Experts in Food Contact Materials: An Interview with Valentina Cornacchio

Valentina Cornacchio, who graduated in Packaging Science and Technology from the University of Parma, has been working in the sector for over a decade. After various experiences in the pharmaceutical and food industries, she founded AVCOR Consulting with her sister, a company specializing in technical consulting on materials intended for food contact.

The interview traces her journey, from her first laboratory experiences to the creation of an entrepreneurial venture with a strong focus on food safety, sustainability, and traceability.

Cornacchio emphasizes the importance of proper material selection, which must comply with regulatory requirements (FCM) and not interfere with the organoleptic properties of food. The company offers technical support to businesses in drafting declarations of conformity, technical specifications, and integrated management systems. In 2024, she launched Experience Food with her sister, a project to promote “quality food” through products from small companies, selected also with a neuroscientific approach (neurogastronomy). The goal is to offer sensory experiences based on objective criteria, capable of connecting memory and taste.

The company continues to grow, providing technical consultancy, accredited training, raising awareness about sustainable food packaging, and projects related to food education.
